Join us! This summer school aims to be a collegial place to share knowledge and experience as well as to build rapport, community and networks connecting students, scholars, artists, and activists and find ways to work together.

Course Logistics

Where: This summer course is hosted online by MSVU. 

 

Who (is leading): This is the team

 

Who (can apply): Undergraduate and master’s students interested or already working on research and/or activism initiatives about Latin American migration to Canada are welcome to apply to participate. The summer course is also suitable for artists who want to incorporate social theory on migration in their work and for activists seeking to foster networks, learn new perspectives on migration, or share their work and experience.

We expect to select up to 20 participants by mid-July.  

When (days and times): The course runs from August 9th to August 12th, from 9am-12pm EST each day. Each day will comprise a mixture of activities and discussions. 

 

What you would need: The art-based course component requires simple to no art material that participants can easily find at home or the office. Participants will need access to a computer, camera, and microphone to participate in discussions. It is expected that participants will participate with their cameras on for most of the course. You will be sent reading materials ahead of the course. 

 

Certificate: Participants who complete the course and submit the art assignment will receive a participation certificate. 

 

How to apply: fill and submit your application by July 2nd 2021.

We will communicate with successful candidates by July 9th 2021.
